Ahmedabad and Lucknow are two new franchises that have the right to choose two Indian and one foreign player total of three players are to be chosen from the pool of players that are available. And as per the letter given by the Indian Cricket board ‘BCCI’ to the Ahemdabad franchise on Monday 10 Jan 2022.
Ahemdabad has already chosen Ashish Nehra as its head coach along with Vikram Solanki as director of cricket and Gary Kirsten as team mentor. The Ahmedabad franchise was bought for INR 5625 crore by CVC Capital. And now they have got the clearance for making Hardik Pandya their team captain for this IPL 2022.
And according to TOI, Ishan Krishan is their preferred wicket keeper. And biggest auction will be on 11 Feb 2022. So before that, both the new teams have to give their preferred choice of names to the BCCI. And KL Rahul to lead Lucknow team as per sources.
This all process was delayed because CVC invests in European betting firms and BCCI made sure that everything as been taken care of or not. As betting is illegal in India.
